THE KeyNote FUND
Designed to Promote Student Success
The KeyNote Fund is a critical tool to ensure that young musicians from across San Diego can participate in KeyNote programs like San Diego Youth Symphony, ChIMES, Music Discovery, and The Opus Project.
It provides need-based tuition assistance, value-based scholarships, instrument loans, repairs and supplies, group and individual lessons, parent education workshops, concert tickets and more… all of it FREE to eligible families.
Most important of all, the KeyNote Fund gives students in KeyNote partner programs, including Opus, the opportunity to participate in SDYS barrier-free: no audition fees, no tuition fees, no instrument loan fees, nothing!
WHAT IS THE KeyNote FUND?
The Encore Fund goes even further by providing more comprehensive assistance designed to promote student success.
In addition to direct tuition assistance, your investment in the KeyNote Fund provides:
- Group or private lessons free of charge
- Instrument loans to students who need them
- Free instrumental supplies, cases and repairs
- Performance clothing to students who don’t have formal wear
- Free concert tickets to scholarship families
- Parent engagement programs and a parent liaison position
- Community-based programs that bring music into our schools
How does this help?
- Students who receive assistance through the KeyNote Fund have a better chance
of advancing through our program at the same or similar rate as their peers. - It makes SDYS more reflective of the communities we serve and builds bridges
between our programs.
