CURRENT OPENINGS
Status: Part-time (non-exempt)
Schedule: Hours vary according to availability, expertise, and program openings.
Compensation: $21-23 per hour, with some benefits
About the Position: The Opus Project, Part of the KeyNote Family of Music Education Programs, is seeking a Opus Site Supervisor to provide on-site relationship and logistical support at an after-school music program in the San Diego County region. They will facilitate on-site relationships and program logistics. They will support student wellness, record program data, and communicate with families and partners. They are committed to our core values of commitment, creativity, equity, collaboration, and service.
Opus Site Supervisors work with either one or two Opus sites each season. Total hours depend on number of sites and vary according to program and school calendars:
- One Site: 10-13 hours per week (~5 hrs/week on-site)
- Two Sites: 20-23 hours per week (~10 hrs/week on-site)
Status: Part-time (non-exempt), 6-20 hours per week
Schedule: Hours are flexible according to availability, expertise, and program openings.
Teaching Rate: $46-50 per hour (with benefits at 20+ hours/week)
Prep Rate: $24 per hour

All openings for the 2023-2024 season are closed. We do anticipate openings for the 2024-2025 season, so stay tuned and feel free to apply in the meantime.

The Opus Project, Part of the KeyNote Family of Music Education Programs, is seeking Teaching Artists to support beginning and intermediate students in Chula Vista, City Heights, and/or Santee community programs. Our Teaching Artists build musical skills, teach fundamentals, amplify student creativity, serve as mentors and role models, and build community with students and families. They are committed to our core values of commitment, creativity, equity, collaboration, and service.
These positions are responsible for providing beginning instrumental instruction to students in group class and full ensembles. They work in teams to create a joyful and holistic environment for musical learning in after-school instrumental music programs at schools in the San Diego County region. These are part-time, hourly positions with flexible prep time and with work events (e.g., student performances) on weekends and/or weekday evenings depending on the season calendar and program schedule.
During the school year, all teaching artists are provided with prep time for:
- lesson planning (remote)
- site team meetings (hybrid)
- professional development (hybrid),
- biweekly department meetings (remote, alternating Mondays at 11am), and
- quarterly planning meetings (in-person).
Rehearsals are held in person at schools in San Diego County and follow the academic calendar of their respective district. One person may fill multiple teaching openings to increase total weekly hours.

San Diego Youth Symphony (SDYS), part of the KeyNote family of music education programs, is seeking for an Individual Giving Coordinator. This role supports San Diego Youth Symphony (SDYS) and KeyNote’s strategic initiatives that are developed to increase donated income from individuals and families. They manage and coordinate SDYS/KeyNote membership programs and events, and provide daily support in database management, donation processing, and special event planning and implementation. To meet multiple demands, they are proactive with prioritization, time management and resource planning. Their work demonstrates on an-going commitment to and focus on KeyNote’s core values of commitment, creativity, equity, collaboration, and service.
KeyNote family of music education programs, is seeking for a Graphic Design/Social Media Coordinator. This role supports KeyNote’s strategic marketing initiatives that promote the organization’s brand and sub-brands to a wide variety of stakeholders both in San Diego County and throughout the national music education community. Part of the organization’s Development team, this position also supports organization-wide communications, fundraising, advertising, and awareness campaigns and objectives. To meet a variety of demands, they are proactive with prioritization, time management and resource planning. Their work demonstrates an ongoing commitment to and focus on KeyNote’s core values of commitment, creativity, equity, collaboration, and service.

KeyNote family of music education programs, is seeking for a Human Resources Manager.
