Music Discovery is a unique two-year program, specifically designed for children ages 5-7 to develop a solid foundation of musical skills.
Students learn together as an ensemble, as well as in small groups and as soloists
Exclusive curriculum, based on Orff and Kodaly principles
Year One focuses on note reading, part singing, rhythmic activities, and introduces beginning music theory. Orff xylophones, hand drums, and other rhythm instruments are used in every class
Year Two expands on year one as children are introduced to each family of musical instruments, setting the stage for them to join a band or orchestra, such as with KeyNote’s San Diego Youth Symphony program
We are excited to offer a brand new Music Discovery summer camp program this year!
Campers will enjoy games, group activities, hands-on instrument play, singing, rhythm, arts and crafts, movement, and more! The camp will feature a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, held in both our music studio and a nearby grassy area just outside our building in Liberty Station. This weeklong experience is a great way for your child to make new friends, learn musical skills, and have lots of fun!

Class songs that incorporate movement as well as ‘finding the beat’ exercises have really helped her grow.
