Seeking a Cello teaching artist for Central Elementary in City Heights (ZIP code 92115) to teach on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 to 4:45 PM.
About the Position:
The Opus Project, Part of the KeyNote Family of Music Education Programs, is seeking Teaching Artists to support beginning and intermediate students in Chula Vista, City Heights, and/or Santee community programs. Our Teaching Artists build musical skills, teach fundamentals, amplify student creativity, serve as mentors and role models, and build community with students and families. They are committed to our core values of commitment, creativity, equity, collaboration, and service.
These positions are responsible for providing beginning instrumental instruction to students in group class and full ensembles. They work in teams to create a joyful and holistic environment for musical learning in after-school instrumental music programs at schools in the San Diego County region. These are part-time, hourly positions with flexible prep time and with work events (e.g., student performances) on weekends and/or weekday evenings depending on the season calendar and program schedule.
During the school year, all teaching artists are provided with prep time for:
- lesson planning (remote)
- site team meetings (hybrid)
- professional development (hybrid),
- biweekly department meetings (remote, alternating Mondays at 11am), and
- quarterly planning meetings (in-person).
Rehearsals are held in person at schools in San Diego County and follow the academic calendar of their respective district. One person may fill multiple teaching openings to increase total weekly hours.
San Diego Youth Symphony (SDYS), part of the KeyNote family of music education programs, is seeking a full time Administrative Coordinator, Individual Giving to support SDYS/KeyNotes’ strategic initiatives focused on increasing contributed revenue from individuals and families. This role will administer and coordinate SDYS/KeyNote membership programs and related events; provide daily support with database management and donation processing; and assist with special event planning and implementation. To accomplish the myriad responsibilities of this position, this person will proactively prioritize their time and tasks and strategically plan and utilize resources. They will also collaborate cross-departmentally to achieve shared objectives and consistently demonstrate an on-going commitment to and focus on KeyNote’s core values of commitment, creativity, equity, collaboration, and service.
KeyNote/San Diego Youth Symphony is seeking a passionate and dynamic bilingual Teaching Artists to inspire our youngest students through the ChIMES program. This part-time position involves leading engaging music classes for children ages 0-5, fostering creativity, movement, and social-emotional growth.
